Dr. Mohiba Tareen is a nationally acclaimed board-certified dermatologist and Founder and Medical Director of Tareen Dermatology. She started Tareen Dermatology in 2011 with a sincere desire to provide cutting-edge and caring dermatologic care to all of her patients. Since then, the practice has grown to six locations in two states – Roseville, Maplewood, Faribault, Monticello, Eagan, and Hudson, WI – and over 200 staff. Dr. Tareen specializes in all areas of Medical, Cosmetic and Surgical Dermatology and is a certified Mohs Surgeon for skin cancer.

Education
Dr. Tareen is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan, where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She earned her medical degree at the University of Michigan and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She was awarded two prestigious scholarships while in medical school: The Glasgow-Rubin Award to the top 5 female graduates and the MAPI award for the number one academic student of Indian descent.
Dr. Tareen completed her dermatology residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, New York. During this time, she also lectured extensively and had her work published in a number of prestigious medical journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine. In addition, she was awarded the Conrad Stritzler Award of the New York Dermatological Society while a second year resident.
Dr. Tareen completed a prestigious Procedural Dermatology Fellowship where she specialized in advanced laser, surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. She subsequently practiced medical and cosmetic dermatology in Manhattan. She served as the expert dermatologist for WebMD and WikiHow. She is frequently interviewed by the media for her expertise with skin cancer and cosmetic dermatology.
Volunteerism
Dr. Tareen has a sincere belief in giving back to the community. She was awarded the United Way Youth Volunteer of the year while in high school. In college and medical school, she spent considerable time at homeless shelters, low cost clinics, and on medical mission trips to India. In New York City and Minneapolis/St. Paul, Dr. Tareen has volunteered her time seeing numerous dermatology patients without insurance.
Tareen Dermatology regularly gives back to the Minneapolis/ St Paul community. Dr. Tareen and her staff contribute both time and money to numerous local charities. Each month, Tareen Dermatology partners with a local charity to provide money, time, and whatever is needed for those in need. All of our staff are committed to giving back to the community.
Family
Dr. Tareen is blessed with four sons and one daughter. Her husband, Basir Tareen MD, is a urologist with Metro Urology in Woodbury. Dr. Tareen comes from a family of doctors – her grandparents were celebrated doctors in India. Her father is a well respected Oncologist and her mother is an Internal Medicine physician.
